The Center for Advanced Technology in Computer Applications and Software Engineering was created in 1984. In 1985, programs were established in manufacturing engineering and engineering physics. Programs in environmental engineering were also started that year. Syracuse University became the second institution in the country to offer degrees in computer engineering when it established programs in this new discipline in 1971. The College of Applied Science became the College of Engineering in 1952. Programs in industrial (1911), chemical (1914), and aeronautical (aerospace) engineering (1927) were added to respond to societal demand. The university, together with the vision and financial support of the noted industrialist Lyman Cornelius Smith, established a college dedicated solely to the instruction of young men and women in various areas of applied science in 1901. As early as 1877, courses in civil engineering were available to students through the College of Liberal Arts electrical engineering followed in 1897, and mechanical engineering in 1900. Smith sold his guns works to John Hunter sometime in 1888 and between then and sometime in 1890, equipment, personnel and parts were shipped to Fulton, and it is hard to believe that no guns were made in the intrim as potential customers might leave and look elsewhere.Programs in engineering and computer science have a long and distinguished history at Syracuse University.

There are no records for these guns and this the only way to help identify and seperate Syracuse from Fulton. Like I said I have posted this on other sites as well as the L.C. Smith Maker on barrels, and your help would be appreciated.

So my quest is for guns in the low 25000 block of numbers, or for higher Syracuse numbers that have L.C.

The next one is 25665, all of the above items listed, but no makers name on barrels.
Lc smith syracuse serial number#
The lowest serial number for Fulton that I have is 25627, also has all of the above attributes, but I don't know about the name on the barrels as I have no information on that. The lastest serial number Syracuse hammer gun that I have is 25470, that has all the above attributes including the name on the barrels. Smith is engraved on the lock plates, all Syracuse hammer guns were 5 pin 2 screw bar action locks (I call them pins, as they were really screw posts), as were the early Fulton ones, the serial number was enraved on the trigger guard, all have the vase shaped ebony for-end tip, the bottom of the receiver has the large convex ribs, and the squared barrel lug that protrudes through the receiver. engraved on the top of the barrels, the name L.C. The transition from Syracuse hammer guns to Fulton ones are Syracuse hammer guns have the name L.C. I am trying to determine when the actual transition from Syracuse to Fulton began. Smith hammer guns of the Syracuse line and Fulton line.

I have been collecting serial numbers on L.C. I thought I would post this over here as well.
